About
Music. Gear. Better Listening.
MP3Raid is an independent English-language publication about the music we listen to and the technology we use to hear it. We cover releases, streaming applications, listening equipment, digital audio and the culture of collecting music. Our aim is to make a story useful after its headline has stopped being new.
A new chapter for a familiar name
The domain owner traces MP3Raid's history to 1999. Its earlier chapter belonged to the era of personal MP3 collections. The current project carries that connection forward into a different listening world: streaming sits alongside local files, physical records and dedicated listening equipment.
We do not treat that history as a substitute for doing the work today. Historical details are identified as owner-provided information unless they are supported by a named archive or other evidence. The new publication's articles should stand on their own sources and reasoning.
What we cover
- Music News: releases and announcements, with context about what changed and why it matters.
- Streaming & Apps: practical listening settings, access, compatibility and service comparisons.
- Gear: equipment features, buying decisions and clearly explained review methods.
- Audio Guides: formats, libraries and repeatable procedures without exaggerated quality claims.
- Music Culture: albums, collecting and the habits that shape listening.
What an MP3Raid article should add
A rewritten press release is not enough. Each article should provide something the reader can use: a checked comparison, a calculation, a timeline, a practical method, an explanation of an announcement's limits, or an editorial interpretation supported by reasons. We link to the sources behind factual claims and distinguish those facts from our conclusions.
Prices, product specifications and availability can change. Where we use them, we identify the relevant region and checking date. An archive coverage date describes the period a piece discusses; the publication and update dates identify when that article was actually issued or changed. A new date alone does not make an old story new.
How we handle product reviews
The launch collection uses specification comparisons, buying guides and source-based review roundups. MP3Raid currently has no physical products available for its own testing. A roundup identifies the manufacturer documentation and any independent publication whose hands-on findings it discusses. Those findings belong to the named tester; they are not presented as our experience.
Hands-on reviews will be identified separately if we conduct them. They should state the equipment, conditions, period and limits of the test. We do not invent measurements, personal listening impressions or numerical scores to make a source-based article resemble a physical review.
Images, authorship and AI assistance
Photographs carry source and credit information where appropriate. An illustrative stock photograph is not proof that we tested the product named in a headline. Composites and generated illustrations are labelled so readers can understand what they are looking at.
Articles are prepared with AI assistance for research, organisation and writing. Their byline identifies the MP3Raid editorial desk rather than an invented expert. A detector's writing score does not establish human authorship. Source checks, clear attribution and useful original analysis remain part of our publication process.
Corrections and independence
If a fact, link or image credit is wrong, please contact the editorial desk with the article URL and the issue. Substantive corrections should be explained in the affected article. Commercial relationships should be disclosed near the relevant content; a paid link or advertisement must not be presented as an independent editorial judgment.
Our public editorial and privacy contact is [email protected]. MP3Raid's editorial byline describes the publication; it does not claim a product-testing qualification or a named reviewer's personal experience.
No advertising or affiliate tracking is enabled in the current build. If those features are introduced, the related disclosures and privacy notice will be updated. You can follow published articles through the MP3Raid RSS feed.
